CC Beast pipe clamp?

Mercury94 created the topic: CC Beast pipe clamp?

I have a CC Beast pipe and the pipe keeps coming loose at clamp. Stays tight at the header end and the header is slid all the way in the pipe. The end of the pipe is isolated using a .40 nitro motor mount. Should I use some shim stock to keep it tight or sealer? Any sugestions welcome.

I've not had that problem myself, but don't be afraid to tighten down on the clamp. Also, you can try cutting 2 extra slits in the end of the pipe where the clamp goes on, just do them 90 degrees to the ones already there. That will allow it to squeeze down more on the header if it's not working with just the stock slits.

BTW, you do not want the header all the way into the pipe...the header needs to be trimmed as per the instructions to get the best out of it. Just FYI.

Unfortunately, i can never seem to get a clamp to live on these pipes. I have gone through 2 of them sofar...and the latest one is not holding the pipe either. I have even cut shims (out of soda cans) to go between the clamp & pipe, opened up the gap in the clamp to get some more clamping force...and the pipe still just works itself loose in it.

Absolutely love the pipe... but the clamps dont like me. :(

That's odd Will. I've not had that problem. How about clamps like NFS Hobbies sells? Have you tried those? I've used them on many steel pipes and they held very well...you can really tighten down on them. Here are a few pics:

Yea i have used the T-bolt clamps on some 7/8 pipes with good success...as long as the metal the pipe was made out of wasnt so hard that it wouldnt let the clamp squeeze it.

That is probably what i will try next...just gotta figure out which size is needed.
