They are HYPE and don't work as advertised.
While turbos work in Diesels both 2 and 4 stroke, you CANNOT very successfully artificially compress cases pressure in a conventional piston ported 2 stroke.
Any pressure added RADICALLY changes the pressure rise within cases upsetting intake resonance, transfer flow dynamics and dampens power output as descending piston on power stroke tries to further compress against case pressure added.
Our pumper type carbs WILL NOT work at all in pressure above atmospheric is introduced within throttle bore.
The depth of the whys are deeper and more complex than shared above.
Just know if there was a way that actually worked you would see it in application where high output 2 strokes are common such as Snow mobiles and GP race bikes.
