Removable head on zenoah

patriktegelberg created the topic: Removable head on zenoah

Hello

Just posting some engine mod pics. The water jacket turned out really sweet. Transfers are as big as they get, CAD/CNC so that the transfer walls are 0.7mm. The removable head allows me to set squish comp and ports independently and it is bling. 20 gram piston. First try cyl snagged at the exhaust but this one is good.

Also a pic of next project, a reed induction 13:1 comp and 0.15 mm squish engine. 18.5 gram flat top piston. 123 transfer duration. I am going for massive acceleration and will use a few really cool trix (to be shown later) to make the v hull handle the torque.

Questions and comments are wellcome ??? http://www.modelgasboats.com/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/2361_DSC01029_JPGc2538be89d4ecfddd9db920fd4dce8c9

Nice work! How does it perform? Can I see a side picture of the piston?

Funny thing, I do not know how it performes since I have not run it stock and not run a comparable engine in a comparable boat. But other than that I am pleased, I have won a few heats in the 35 cc class and qualified to the world championships next year with it so at least I know it is not bad. Throttles fine, revs high and did start easily at the beginning. It has become harder to start over time, I am guessing it is something with the membranes in the carb because everything else in the engine looks new. Also if it was just run in the last couple of minutes it always starts on the first pull but if left for say 20 min it needs to be choked and messed with.

How does the button seal to the cylinder? Is it possible that it seals up well when hot and once it cools down the seal isn't so good, thus causing slightly harder starts? Just wondering. Can't wait to see how you make out with the reed setup. Keep up the nice work!

I am to eager to try the reed but I havent even drawn the boat it will sit in yet so there is lots more to be done before results are coming in. I feel the head seal theory is unlikely and I feel no big difference in the pull coord on hot and cool engine.

Thanks, I am flattered. I have actually some more work to post. I am afraid though that the cylinder reed engine may never get to run since I did something else instead. This reedcase engine have not run either and will not do so until I get my new boat finished. Quite ambitious if I may say it myself. http://www.modelgasboats.com/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/2693_DSC01236_JPG6b0f076c5791c3af160ffedf173ffa98

At first i thought it was a gear reduction. But im thinking i wished i had the machine it took to make the bottom end.Man thats awesom !!Why not ditch the cylinder from zenoah and make a true all billet engine?Keep up the great work!!!Keep the pictures coming .This is thinking way out of the box.
