Zenoah 260 snap-ring

Mercury94 created the topic: Zenoah 260 snap-ring

Got a used Zenoah 260 that I am overhauling and removed the bearings from the case. When I removed the bearing from the out put end I noticed there was a machined groove in the case. Looks like a snap ring groove but it was empty.Does a snap ring go there?

Yes one does and needs to be there for crank to have correct thrust spacing between bearings.

Thanks Scott. I am going to try to port this motor as per your Zen porting article. Don't have much invested in it so it's worth a shot. Been into alot of engines over the years but not like these.
