New CY27

Ska Fan 03 created the topic: New CY27

Hey Fellas,

Have a easy vee from zippkits that until now has been running a homie ac engine. However i recently purchased a sikk cy27 (from DDM's ebay store) for 188, as the weedeater just wasnt cutting it.

But i have a few questions before i bolt her in. First one being there are 2 sets of coolent passages on the head and another for my exhaust header. I plan on running two transom mount pick ups to cool everything. But what is the best way to do this (one dedicated to the motor, the other going to the motor then to the header?) Also it seems each inlet on the top of the head feeds both bottom outlets? Is that correct?

Also what types of airfilters, and full filters are best for these engines?

Thanks for your help everyone!

We only run water from the rudder into one bottom fitting on the cooling jacket, out one of the top fittings, through the exhaust flange and then overboard. You can cool the exhaust separately, and you may need this in some cases. Our biggest problem with Chung Yang engines are the cylinder bolts. Check to be sure they are tight after every run. We finally eliminated the base gasket and safety wired the bolts to prevent loosening. Otherwise the engines ran very well.

I don,t have a air filter but built my zipp with a winshield. It keeps water out of carb when getting in the rooster tail of another boat.

this is my set up i have a rudder with 2 pick ups and i have 2 outlets
the hoses from rudder go into the bottom of head.1 of outlets goes straight to an outlet and the other goes to the exhaust manifold then from the to the out on side of boat.
