While a smart azz remark like they are "Snake Oil" type products may be out of line .... Not far off the mark either
QUALITY 2 stroke oils designed for high performance & high rpm applications contain as part of there additive package anti wear/anti scuff agents.
Now if we were using bargain basement cheap 2 stroke oils ? ... a fortifier such as listed would very much be a good idea.

I use Amsoil synthetic and treated my engine with one of these products and the engine actualy slowed down[less rpm ] initially but the next time I used the boat it ran well like before I treated it.and I did no adjustments.
This was strange to me that is why I asked the question.
