RE: Scotts RCMK EVO mod write up

Hey guys, I swear I'm not being lazy and have looked all over to no avail. Does anyone have the link to Scotts write up on modding the new Evo motors. Thinking about picking one up and was curious why folks say they are so much work to mod. Seems like it would be close to modded with just a few minor areas to open up and blend in.

Not missing a thing .... never did an EVO "How Too"

PM inbound to you ;)

** Primary reason IMO the EVO's get spoken about as "Tough" to do is the plating RCMK now uses, it is hard ... really friggen hard !! and flashed into the passages too !!
The original R254 cylinders had huge intake and exhaust ports where the EVO does not, so they require cutting on as well if raising the peak RPM higher. Pound for pound the evo makes more power stock than first gen cylinders but to get it bumped further raising both peak RPM and usable HP requires a bit of work. ** Tho still far less cutting than on a Zenoah g260 jug for comparable power ratings.

Having had too do as many in hobby have .... finding a way to generate some extra moneys in this lousy economy, have been doing engine for hire again and performing the EVO mods in house and not giving the info away at this time.

Sorry,
Scott

I can't wait to get one as well. Scotts' years of experience and racing record speaks for itself. I am very curious how they stack up compared to the modded zenoahs. I am looking for an engine that will rev to the moon and put those four bearings to work.
