RE: RCMK piston swap.

OK, I've got a sneezed RCMK piston and never had to change one before. the C-clip looks like a joy to remove (note sarcasm) so I need to know the tricks and tips to put a new one in. I do have a new piston sitting here but I have a complete assembly coming this week.
OK, how do I get the clip off easily and then a new one put into place? I don't have any trick tools to do this with.
I did kind of figure out how to pull the wrist pin once the clip is removed but that's it so far.
Thanks in advance.

I use a pair of surgical clamps to put my c clips in & to pull them out. They are like tweezers but have a clamp mechanism on them so that the spring won't go flying into oblivion if you slip. They're worth their weight in gold in this hobby, you can also use them to pinch fuel lines when swapping out engines, use to get nuts onto threads in hard to reach places & dig washers out from the hull when they're coated in grease & oil & half under the radio box.

OK, those I've got in a few shapes and sizes. You're right, they're handy for a lot of things on these boats.

Yeah, your right Scott, I made some from the article and they work a treat. As for the springs flying into oblivion, they are cheap to replace. I do this every time anyway.
So go the article and make your own.

Thanks for the link, I looked for that one for a good 1/2 hour or so last night.
