Propellers

You're right Scott, I had a good experience that had a 470 prop ran on my Insane 2 mono with a mod 260, the mono used a stinger drive, actually I did not know it was a surface type drive..lol

What is the actual rev limit on the G260. I always thought it was 10,000rpm cause thats what it says in the manual and should I use a 2 or 3 blade prop?

Funny thing the manual is so far off and likely a lost in translation & application mistake.
The AIRCRAFT version on the G260 is limited to that @10,000 RPM limit.
The Marine version tho runs 14-15K pretty easily when not over propped.
* Modified 231/260's will run all day long at 16-18K putting out 5 to 6 HP :drinks:

Thanks for all the help. Surprising zenoah wouldn't distinguish between the rev limits in the manual. I've decided to go with a 6516/3 prop.:) ;)

The hull in question is a Blade build by TFL Hobbies in China. We are racing them very succesfully here in South Africa at 5000ft altidue using X472 props on full mod motors with speeds in the low 90 KPH. On stock motors props used X467 and X470 depending on pipe.

Thanks for the post Fielies:) . I never actually knew exactly who made the hull:blush: . I feel much more confident using this hull now. They make some nice boats.

Some small sproblems we had with the hull was that the hull and deck joint was not very strong. Would stongly suggest you put another layer off cloth inside to make the joint stronger. The wood rails in the boat is off very poor quality and delaminates very quickly. Suggests you reinforce it with a layer off cloth both sides or replace it with better quality wood. Boat runs very well though.
