what new cat

Scott replied the topic: Re:what new cat

In the R.C. Gas Model world we exceed the scale equivalent speeds by 3-4 fold
For instance a 40 foot Skater Cat can run 150 miles per hour in perfect water, a Gas R.C. model at 45 inch's give or take can do 60 mph.
Basically the Models hull would be @ 1/8 scale of the real boat.
Do the math and 60mph X 8 = 480 MPH !!

* My point being, If you want to run in ANY chop or have too ... A Cat is NOT the correct choice IMO. A Deep V mono hull would be the better choice and a LOT more fun too :dance2:

I have to agree that a big V is a blast in the rough stuff!!!! Had a 57" Enforcer Magnum and it was fun!! Have a 57" Teamstrike sitting on the shelf that I eventually would like to setup with a twin inline for big water too. I think the 50" with twins should take somewhat big water, but probably nothing near what a big V can.

No doubt large V is better for good chop than any cat...
However I also think of building a large cat for twin rear exhaust engines. Now I think of AM 50" Pro cat.. However there is another one I personally like www.expresscraft.com/cougarcat.htm however 60" may be a bit too much, which one would you choose as a twin cat for rough water?:?

Personally I love the Aeromarine boats. I have no personal experience with the ExpressCraft boats though, so I can't really compare. Sorry. The Express Craft is indeed good looking!

Me too (my conquest and AM 56"apache) however in order to buy a twin cat I will have to sell my conquest wich I have just finished tuning. Thus i wonder if AM 50" twin will make SUCH a difference in speed, handling etc.
While I have no doubt that 60" Express Craft will, on the other hand this seems like a HUGE cat, may be a bit too big for me as it will be even bigger than my apache 56" which I personally already find massive.

I wonder who has any experience with Express Craft...
