hi can any one tell me how a prop works i am 57 and only now found that the in pitch is one rev to the in distance eg one rev to 17inches and one rev to 19inch traver

A simple explanation was given to me when I raced big boats. When a prop goes around, it does not screw theough the water. The front side of the prop digs a hole and then the back side falls in to it.
