New boat need help.

Gulf Coast created the topic: New boat need help.

I Need help identifying it. Fuel lines were on back wards. had to pull the carb clean and rebuild it. Set the jets a t 1 1/2H 1 1/2 L.
Still not running right. Maybe a carb leak between the insulator and carb. It has 2 water out ports on the left side. 1 Tank vent on the right. The water just cools the exhaust coupler and head? And ya not thrilled with rubber bands holding the servos? They do work? And the Engine has a name???? Any info on this would be great!!! More pics if needed.

Its probably a Hanson Hornet 260.Look at the label on the bottom of the crankcase.
Hanson been modding zenoahs longer than most others.

BH Hanson

you can't set high needle on the stand the boat has to be in water running at speed

looks like a 644 the needles should be set to start with L 1 turn +- 1/4
H 1 5/8 turns +- 1/4
then tune from there

The hull looks like a Forabuck/ Vern Kilmer hull that was sold on eBay, a copy of an Aeromarine hull.
The engine is a Zenoah modified by B H Hansen.
Take the carb and try 2 on the low and 1 out on the high speed needle.
Yeah, the rubber-banded servo's look like a shaky setup to me.
I also spotted that there are no vents at all to let any air in. You've got to feed that carb somehow. With it on like that, all the engine will be getting for a short time is hot air off the motor.

Thanks for the help. It also has inline water shut off valves. Between the head and between the exhaust. Why? Why would you want to turn them off?
I took the carb off with engine still in. I don't think the screws are sealing it to the insulator.
