When the boat was built new it cost more than $1000 to build it. With that being said I have seen nicer used boats go for less money. It all depends what you are going to use the boat for. If you are just going to use the boat for playing/Sport boating it looks to be pretty well setup. If you are going to want to race then this boat will not serve that purpose very well. I have a challenger and while it is a great sport boat it is not a good racer. I would check it out really well. Ask to hear it run and make sure that everything works as it should and make a decision from there. I would put the boat in the $500-$600 range if everything works as it should. If it has a mod motor then the price will be a little higher.

Looks like a mod motor however I can't read what is engraved on the cooling head. This also has a clutch which might be good for a sport boater but is not good for racing. It appears to have good hardware and was put together properly. $1000 is steep. $700 tops.

It looks to me like the servos are held in place with rubber bands which is not a great idea. Doug

If the motor, clutch, and drive were all in good shape, MAYBE $500. A few things would have to be done to make it a reliable play boat. Radio box re-do with better sealing, lots of floatation added, far more fresh ventilation for motor and pipe. And that's just based on the available pics. It appears to have a stock Prather 275/280 SS prop. There are better props that can offer better handling, or that prop could be "worked".

It's always better to spend money on a boat that you have seen ( vids or in person ) run, or if you have reliable history info. Pics are worth a thousand words, but they can mask problems too. $1000 MIGHT be reasonable for a used package that needs NO work, and is a provable runner. But with just these pics, not even close.

Thanks for the info. I talked to him and he did say the motor was modded, but couldn't tell me how. He is a Tampa FL. cop. And can't run it in the lake he lives on. Gated community. He said he bought it 5 yrs ago from a guy that raced it.? He said he clocked it at 56mph. His radar gun I'm guessing? But did say it could go faster? Maybe reprop like Hot Rods said. Of course i'll rebuild the carb and tear it apart, clean and rebuild what ever needs it!! It comes with extra parts and 2 controllers. I will be trading a $300 Pressure washer and $300 in cash. Thanks again for the info, this will be #4 in my collection. Hot Rods I will be picking your brain more if you let me. :)

" Hot Rods I will be picking your brain more if you let me. " LOL It'll be slim pickins at best LOL. But if I can help at all, by all means. There's lots of great guys with a wealth of knowledge you can tap into here, so don't hesitate to ask. I hope it's a good boat for ya.

I would say the hull is a Vern boat. Fora buck hulls and not aeromarine. It is based on the aeromarine challenger.
