Hi! Im new

HI! I'm a new guy. not new to RC I have a small fleet of RC planes and trucks. I am moving down near Orlando soon which if you ever been down there there are lakes EVERYWHERE. As a matter of fact I will be living across the street form a 100+ acre lake. So I want to get into boats.

Due to the size of the lake and the boat traffic I was thinking something 28+ inches and I love the look of cats so would perfer that. Anyone have any recomendations? As soon as I offload my P38 and Savage I will be buying my boat ;)

(oh yea, I already have a Futaba 2.4 3pm and receiver. Not to mention a few super high torque digital servos from my trucks.)

Welcome.

If you are looking for a boat in the 28" range, you will have to go with electric or nitro power. The gas boats are all in the 40"+ range. There are many good gas cats out there. Insane, Seaducer, Aeromarine to name a few. In my opinion, most of the hulls from such reputable manufacturers are very good hulls, so basically you pick the one you like best and work with it. I would stay away from cheap imitations. Stick with reputable companies and you will be all set. If you have questions, ask them here...there are many experienced boaters frequenting this site (even though many are keeping quiet most of the time :) )

I guess that depends on what your looking for? Racing, playing.......
I got started back in 96 with a Warehouse Hobbies XP pro. Loved that boat and served me well. You can't go wrong with any manufacturer out there or listed on MGB site. Enjoy and welcome to sport boating. You should enjoy it and you definatly have the weather for it unlike here in INDY where its 17 degrees.

I agree that the WHH line of boats are great sport boats! Sure can't beat the price/quality if it's a sport boat you are after!

G'day Guys,
I am not yet into the sport but are keen to get going. Have had no RC experience but have been reading about the Enforcer Magnum 57 and think it might be a good starting boat. I have no idea about the Radio's etc so am looking for some guidence. Any help would be appreciated.

The Mag57 would make a great entry boat if you are playing on open lakes...rough water...otherwise, consider some of the smaller ones like the Team PRO etc... you can get the boats with low cost radios from WHH. If you plan for the long run, make sure you get a good radio system...something like a PCM or Futaba FAST...something than you can program in several models...
