TNAMH - Section 42

whitefish created the topic: TNAMH - Section 42

Considering that TNAMH has not been printed in 30 years and copies are becoming more
difficult to locate and the text has never been converted to a digital copy available
on-line, having a copy of this brief excerpt will allow those interested to see what
is contained in the frequently cited Section 42 and why it is considered so important.

I tried to balance the resolution with the filesize and that is why the .png file type
was selected. Each file can print a letter size copy of each page which can be useful
as a shop copy. It's is easier to read (larger print) and might protect those valued
copies of TNAMH from grease, dirt or damage. For print jobs, I recommend the graphic
app known as IrFanView - available free and very feature packed.

I have a .zip file which contains the five pages which make up Section 42. Not sure
the server will allow it to be uploaded but will try. If this post changes to read
"Deleted" then be aware the reason for that is the .zip file was not compatible as
an upload file type.

Most email apps should not have problems using a .zip file as an attachment so that
remains as another option.

Edit: I was able to save a copy of this attached .zip file back to my hard drive and was
able to view the contents. I cannot detect any compatibility issues with using .zip files
on MGB.

Edit 2: Marc: I'm not getting my posts to go into "Advanced Technical" like I want them to.
I was viewing that folder when I selected "New Topic" and my new thread still ends up in
the wrong folder. What am I missing here??? Thanks. Please move this one when you
have time.

TNAMH = The New American Machinist's Handbook. I didn't want a super long thread title
so I went with the acronym.

CC = who the *ell is that??? Seriously everyone. Carlo has been "CC" on multiple forums
for a lot longer than I have been around the toy boat world. If we get two CCs running
around then it leads to confusion and that is not our mission. Please, out of respect
for Carlo, let's refer to him as "CC" and let me be whitefish, MR. WHITEFISH or
mr. whitefish or what ever suits your fancy. Thanks for your understanding.

He is cc racing  but sure.....

I dont think this book is as scarce as you think. Ive found plenty online used. What seems to be more scarce is these "professional machinist" reading it!!!!

Have you had a chance to look at the helical section? JA made a killer prop pitch gauge off of the info there.

Im currently awaiting my copy to fully understand it. :woohoo:
