Watercooling... to little or to much?

smokeater2005 created the topic: Watercooling... to little or to much?

With water cooling for a tycipal 29-30cc engine is the exhaust pulse type water cooling pump enought to cool the cylinder head and the exhuast flange in Series or would a Parallel setup with less flow but cool water to the exhaust flange work better?

I will be running a dual pick up rudder but intend on using that to cool the custom exhaust pipe setup I want to run.

I was thinking about using a pair of octura streamlined water pickup as it doubles as a mini stabilizer and water pickups. offered at www.offshoreelectronics.com

with using two of these i should be able to feed twin exhaust driven water pumps to cool an RMCK K600S right?

upon more research

the two pickups I found should not only cool the cylinder but feed right into the exhaust header and then out the port side no problems. the wet pipe would need a speed driven pickup such as a turn fin...

That Octura water intake will out throw any rudder waterline.duel or single I have a duel head water line and that side shoots 2 1/2' up. Your should be fine.

Those pick ups work GREAT ... but sadly at a great DRAG cost.
As for actual temperature of engine while under a good load ... very warm to HOT is what ya want just short of blowing steam. 150+ to 180* degree F is perfect IMO

Scott...
using two of those pickups I should space them around 1.5" from the center line on each side correct?
I sould be using around a 2.8-3.0" prop

Being that it will be a twin cylinder setup...14hp-ish, should I be worried about the extra drag from the two pickups?
