Nice job Marc ....

Guess old tricks die hard with me, have yet to ever use one of these style bushing set ups :P

I know what you mean Scott...we all have our old habits! :) I have tried lead teflons and I always came back to these simple bushing bearings. I am a "collet" setup guy! Just love the simplicity.

Marc, I made my own like this for a nitro boat just to see if I could do it. Instead of drilling holes I made diagonal cuts using a cut-off wheel. I felt that doing it that way that the grease would be covering a larger area than by using the holes. Try one for the heck of it sometime.

I have made mine for the last few years, and they wear like iron if they are kept greased... We used the needle bearings on the solid shafts in the struts back in the early 70's and they wore the stub shaft out very quickly. I rarely change one and I run at least once a week.

The cable twist is what screws the grease out the rear of the boat, I had one that wore really bad and the grease came out the engine end of the shaft!! I always thought it was vacuum doing this.
