Engine and collet connection

Ska Fan 03 created the topic: Engine and collet connection

Hey fellas, got a real quick question...

Picked up a new cy27 motor, and also a collet. My question is how do i connect them as both have female threads. Am i missing something here?

Educated guess would be collet you have is not the right type.

Most common is the stainless steel Aeromarine type that has a tapered female counter bore at one end, this match's the engines output shaft and taper. A 6mm screw threw the middle secures it.

Same collet fits Zenoahs, RCMK's and CY/Sikk engines.
Any the gas boat parts suppliers you shop with should have the correct one for your application. They can be purchased in 1/4" compression or 1/4" square type.
* Only takes an insert change to switch between drive styles.

I actually did order one from aeromarine, but on my sikk motor there is just the female screw connection.

I ended up just using a 6M bolt to connect the two female peices
