mod 6719 on whips

damian created the topic: mod 6719 on whips

Hi guys,
lookin for some ideas on prop mods for a 6719/3 to run on my sport hydro, it seems to like the same props as the whips do.
Would be awesome if anyone would be kind enough to post some pics of modded props so I can start havin a play around.
The 6719 that I am running at the moment has the ears rounded and blades are backcut 1.5mm at the hub to nothing at the tips, runs ok but loads up a little bit.
Be good to know what other guys are doing and results ,ie top end speed and handling.
Many thanks in advance
Damian

Especially on such high rake & minimal blade area props as the 6719's, very difficult to "See" what alterations are done to the blades between all the versions around these days. Slight changes in working face camber, cupping of lead or trailing edges, diameter changes are what is generally getting done.

Thanks Scott,
Was thinking of taking a little bit of the diametre of blades, I guess that would still give me the advantages of the pitch but allow it to free up a bit?, what about bar cutting? or would I loose too much drive?.
My main aim is to free up the prop a bit so I can get up and going a bit quicker out of the corners.
Thanks

Yes, a Barr cut works as well. Just keep the profile round on the cut.
Have done this to Octura V967/3 props with great success, but thrown blades too

Hi. My best prop so far for the Whip GV and QD25HT is a Dasboata ABC W-2716.
I have a Dasboata PropShop ss W-6719 for the Whip to, but havent tryed it yet, -the lakes is still frozen.
You can see the barr cut on it, and the tips is bent just a tad.

Just for comparing a VooDoo 6719 and Dasboata W-6719/3.

Adding some videos to show some dif on my Whip GV. and a prop photo.

(sorry about the video Q).

First video: Whiph GV / CC-racing RCMK S254, prop Dasboata W-2716

Second: Whip GV / QD25HT, stock SB PropShop 6520/3.
Nice RPM but NO speed, and I got a bit of "bouncing" in the rear end.

Boat seems to be running good! :)

BTW, I don't think that Voodoo Prop is a 6719???? Looks like a 6717 to me. :) The one on the right (dasboata), now that looks like a 6719. :)

We worked one over a few yrs ago for a cat, cut back the leading edge all the way back to the tips of the blades, Backcut it and pitched it up a bit. The prop that really moves right out of the box is a Bullet by Voodoo it is a modified V967 in Stainless 77mph on a GV Whip right out of the box, 72mph on a Seaducer hydro. www.redlinemotors.us

I run a 2718, bar cut & cupped with rounded ears on my hydro & it handles very well.

Here's some pics & a vid of it running in an Evo, the vid shown has it running at 100 KPH, with the Zenoah I usually run speeds are between 108 & 117 kph depending on the weather & water.
