INSANE GENERATION 3 J&G POWERED CAT

gforce replied the topic: Re:INSANE GENERATION 3 J&G POWERED CAT

Understood. I'm pretty sure that boat is being built for pure speed. I doubt that it will ever see a racing oval. Any Idea what it can do in full SAW trim?

Well i went 70mph with my Insane Gen2.. and Jon Cinquegrani set the NAMBA G1 SAW record with his Gen2 at 76mph..

so if you believe all the hype about the Gen3 being 4mph faster then the Gen2's.... a Gen3 should run between 74-80mph.

They both have their upsides and downsides. The styker is very easy to setup, very forgiving on setup and is not picky about props to run good (especially for heat racing). The Insane is easy to setup (for me at least, ive setup 3 of them), but can be a bit picky about props and tends to like the "exotic" props moreso then the standard octura props (again, for heat racing).

One thing i myself like about the Insane GEN2 (not the gen3) over the Stryker...is the ability to get the CG very low in the boat because of the dropped pod, which the stryker does not have.

I dont think there is a dropped pod in the gen 3. If there is I didnt notice it. I think I remember that the gen2 has kind of like a tri hull like the full size mirage jaguar or an STV. The gen three does have a moulded in stuffing box. I am not sure about the radio box being integrated into the deck and they dont supply a cover for the acess hole for the transom. The tunnel is also much smaller in the gen3. The boat is beautiful and very straight and square.
