Great boat Randy, I actualy have been building boats and helis for a long time , my first build was in 86, a 21 outboard tunnel, to tell you the truth I get more injoyment from the build than running them, you could call it time out theraphy.
The cowl was my design, Marc will get all the details and photos soon of how the build and mods were done, the cowl was the trickest part though, many hours went into the design and fit, this boat has not seen the water yet so I am not sure how the cowl will go, the pioneer needs a lot of air so I had to mould an intake vent on the inside directing the air flow to the carb, will have to play with foam densities to get the right flow, got to get xmas over and done with first. I also used to run my own custom paint shop in the eighties, so paint jobs are no problem, just have to wear glasses now
cheers

Before you work with foam densities, have you ever considered using a sheet of Gortex? I once saw a demonstration where there was a bowl of water covered yoth Gortex. The bowl was then turned on its side, the water was boiling, steam was escaping through the Gortex, but no water was leaking out.

Thanks Steve, I have heard of this product but never investigated what it does, think I might have some motor bike gloves made of it, I will check what it is and see if it is suitable.
