Another Warpath for Dist 2

Very nice build so far. Got my kit Wed. Damn glue takes too long to dry.
Pretty much built to instructions. Dowelled the sponson skins to formers and tub skins too.Came out dead flat and square.
Sealed the inside of the tub and used 3/4 inch fiberglass strips on seams.

Been a while, Lots of things to do. Got my cowl and isolator mounts, Thanks Marc.
Everything is mounted. Now I can tear it down and seal the outside of the tub.

A few observations, I mounted the forward bulkhead upside down (my mistake), but it created clearance for the motor mount past the isolator.
My 24" flex shaft was too short, need a 30" cut down to about 25".

The hockey stick that comes with the cowl was modified. The fron edge is routered out to accept the cowl lip. I routered the bottom also. The whole right side edge now fits in the groove.
I made a shorter hockey stick out of delrin(ply would have worked) for the left side lip. Cowl fits very nice now.
I will blend in the top front of the cowl to the forward deck later.

No room for side mounted coil relocator, need to find a top mount.

Screwed the front hatch on with nylon screws, My GPS is small and weighs nothing, it will go in the rear compartment.

Do I need a drain hole in the rear?

I don't use a drain hole at the back but you can if you want. I drain water out by the pushrod hole.

Flex cable length can vary slightly depending on bend in stuffing tube.

Initially I had routed the entire cowl lip but it made it hard to put on and take off the cowl so let me know how it works for you.

For the coil, you should mount it in the factory position. A top mount will probably not work with the cowl.

Keep me posted.

WAs adjusting the boom tube and one of the nyloc nuts seized on the bolt.About 4 turns loosening then stuck. Ended up twisting the head off the bolt. Never had this happen before. Bolt wasn't tight.
Have to see if I can find another ss bolt for Sunday. May have to use a regular bolt till then.Odd!

Bill, I've had that happen to me on a few too! I think I have a bad batch in my inventory somewhere...I have to try and identify it. Sorry about that. If you need me to send you some more just let me know what you need. They're 8-32 1" long. In the meantime, Canadian Tire usually stocks the Phillips head SS you can use or just use a standard 8-32 for now. I don't even take a chance with SS now, I always put a small dab of grease on the bolts before threading on the nut just in case. SS seizes really bad if the threads get a bit hot.
