My Latest Aeromarine Conquest - 2010

marc created the topic: My Latest Aeromarine Conquest - 2010

Here are a few pictures of my latest Conquest build. This will be my racer for this season. I made a few changes, including the half-cut cowl, forward engine placement and some other things. I also went back to the inside-transom mounted strut, and made a new easy-to-adjust strut, to make it easier to tune at the lake/races. The hull is a custom ordered carbon-reinforced Conquest from Aeromarine. The boat is powered by a "The Beast" engine from CC Racing Engines. The CG ended up right where I wanted it without an additional weight in the hull this time. I have a few killer props from Propshop West and Voodoo Props that I will be trying on this new cat. Gonna test soon! :)

Thanks Mart. The strut is very easy to adjust and allows for tilt angle adjustments in addition to up/down of course. You just loosen the big allan on the port side (can't really see in the pics) and adjust up/down on both adjustment allans on top and re-tighten the side allan to lock it down. The side allan is threaded into the opposite bracket so there is no need to hold a lock nut at the same time. And even if it did come loose for some reason, the two adjustment bolts hold the strut in place with little to no lag. It is a bit of a pain to build and install, but once done it saves a lot of headaches with the inside strut mounting. :)

Has CC produced a new version of their engine they call the Beast or is it your own name?

Is it your own idea Marc if so how about some pics of the strut assembly if you have any before it was fitted.

Carlos own words .....

These engines have billet crankcases, ceramic bearings, 1mm stroker crank, Billet Isolater block, Mod Carb with needle clamp, CNC Piston and CNC ported Zenoah cylinder and external parts. These things really make some good power.

The BEAST is a new engine from CC Racing...it has been released a while back, but now is getting out there more since IMPBA went with the wide open engine rules. My BEAST is with regular cases. You can get them with or without. They are basically tricked up stroker engines, with Carlo's own porting.

Yes, it is my own design. Never seen anyone else make anything like it, or even close...maybe that will change though. I don't think I took pictures, but I will check.

Cheers mate i really like it ,a friend of mine actually builds some hardware for gas boats but no struts as far as i know but a nice extra strong stinger that uses a 5/16" shaft and a square drive setup, they also build a billet zenoah but its still at the testing stage i think.
