Air Cooled echo engine

Scott replied the topic: Re: Air Cooled echo engine

Without seeing the specific ECHO your wanting to use it on, not sure flywheel taper will accept it ?

But that said, Of the 2 extra Ignition systems , would sell one set, but keeping the other.
A Flywheel and matching coil set is worth @ $60 to me.

Hey Scott,

I'm gonna have to pass on the coil and flywheel right now since thats more than I paid for the edger. I think I'll run this engine stock except for a pipe (since I can make one fairly easily) for now in free air cooled form, then move to a zen 260 later. I just don't want to spend more money on this right now than I have to to get it running. Thanks though.

I can CNC motor mounts and water jackets all day for pretty much free from waste aluminum from my shop.

Any drawbacks to electronic ignition? I found a kit for $25 (not including coil), and thought that may be a good way to reduce the size of the engine and put it further down into the hull. I see them on airplanes all the time and not boats, so I was wondering if it would not be a good idea. Thanks.
