warehouse hobbies 46" vee loosing power after 5 laps

tootalltechie created the topic: warehouse hobbies 46" vee loosing power after 5 laps

my deep vee is loosing power after 5 laps at full throttle. it has wet tuned exhaust, M5 zenoah, wt-644 carb, temp is 178*, fuel 30 to1, prop 2716(2) 15, double square drive no clutch.

for testing would it be ok to remove coolant hose off wet pipe?

as long as you have water to the block and exhaust flange ,test away.
could be the 30 to 1 ratio?? i mix 1-1/2 oz to every 16 oz = about a 10 to 1.
maybe not getting lubed up enough and the oil helps dissipate the heat.
30 to 1 to high.

Trying to figure out why I lose power after reaching temp. With no changes to carb, fuel, not leaning out (I think), shaft has fresh lube before run, fuel filter clear, tank near full, water cooling working. Took video with a AC Blast Cat (Elwin's) and keeping up then I slow down.

Seems the easy solution based on what u said is to meter the cooling with various I'd brass tubing or nipples simply run cooler and verify the actual temp. It's advisable to know the numbers - all of them when possible and log as u test to remember exactly, wat u did and wat the effect was.

is 178 degree too hot? water temp is mid 50's. Need bigger water cooling tubes and fittings? Oh yes water into cool cap at bottom out at top. Insulator on plug light brown.

Based on your post it may be for your setup don't know.My advice came out backwards  I meant cool it more with additional pickups then meter it back if need be.Just a thought, not the gospel! Having the metering option is best even if it is not the issue.

temp is not bad can you touch cap for a sec and not burn fingers??if not to hot, how are yours lines running and are they ok. also did boat always do this or just started?? the heat we've had with humidity doesn't help.
