1/4 scale wood boat build, planking and vacuum bagging questions?

Smoke I think that boat is awesome! The old school boats are the ancestors of today off the shelf mass produced boats. A modern high horsepower boat is a awesome machine, but a old school wood boat with two giant 1930's-1940's aircraft engines is something to experience to appreciate! Hope you go forward to this kind of build as you just don't see stuff like that anymore.

I believe that the Gar Wood Speedster is prob the best of both world with a simple curve, yet also a V hull! plans are a bit cheaper too.
After doing a bit of homework, Gar Wood was the first man to go faster than 100mph on the water! The speedster is basicaly a cut down version of the "miss america" series of boats that gar woods team retired with undefeated!

i could even see myself building a full scale version after a 1/3 scale to get my feet wet..lol

OK so i got it down to three names for the boat!

1. Mis Stress
2. Miss Diagnosed
3. Miss The Boat

Everyone tell me what you think? please...

My wife likes #2
I like in order listed...

Hi Smoke.

I would go for "Miss Stress". Whenever you finish that build, you will know what I mean. :P
As a second choice you could go for "Missed Diagnosis"

Good luck and cheers! :cheer:

Woody.

PS: My own build will be named: "Everlasting Story" - some day...

Great looking boat. As far as I can tell, vaccuum bagging reduces resin quantity and slightly reduces weight, but has a marginal effect on strength?

Looking really good, Smoke. Seems to be very strong and having the right scale-look for a boat like yours.
BTW: Where did you find stuff like this? (Link please).

Cheers! :cheer:
