ff gas rigger help

gas_rigger replied the topic: Re: ff gas rigger help

what is the correct stuffing tube size for 1/4 flex? no teflon liner

scott, pic below shows what i plan to do with rudder
i have moved rear sponsons forward a little
got a short rudder and lengthened it 19mm
lengthened strut 22mm
this gets things setup as you suggest is correct and is the same as my miniY

miniY is 4 point, very similar to ff only smaller. moving r sponsons forward on ff gives a sponson moment same as miniY so hopefuly won't upset things

A lot of folks just use 5/16" thin wall K&S brass passing threw strut then using collared or flair end sleeve bearings.

My self prefer the 5/16" .029" heavy wall K&S tube with press in oilite bushings in strut. ( This tube only go's into nose of strut maybe 1/4" or so. )

thanks scott

can anyone elaborate on cg? i would like a better understanding as far as boats go

I also have a Tenshock minibat. I guess it would be describrd as a two point hydro? it has not rear sponsons and runs a very forward cg. I think it was there fastest hull but dificult to drive. Is no longer made.

I guess its ultimately about keeping wetted area and weight down, less drag

So? the less rear sponsons/skies 2 1 or 0, the more load the front sponsons carry? the more forward the cg will be? = faster boat all else being equal?

Am i on the right track?

Thanks
