Help to Identify, Mercury Outboard, Tri-Hull?

Prince66 created the topic: Help to Identify, Mercury Outboard, Tri-Hull?

My brother picked this boat up in NH and we would appreciate any help in identifying it.

I have never seen a hull design like this before and only a few Mercury Outboards.

It appears that there was once a cockpit that covered the electronics held on by some Velcro, now all it has is a piece of plexi glass siliconed to cover the servos, receiver and battery.

Hope to hear from anyone with any ideas.

He did find out that it is an O.S. MAX 65 v, we are just wondering how old it may be and if it is a very common configuration for this engine.

It looks like a Starcraft CPS20 also called Flying Wedge made by International Hobbies. It's over 20 years old. They went out of business about 20 years ago.

That's too cool!!! I remember those ads from Boat Modeler magazine back when I was getting started in RC! Those boats sure looked awesome! I think you might have yourself a collector's item on your hands there! :)

Thanks to everyone for their help.

Now that we know what it is, we are looking for a replacement cockpit, I have tracked down a couple of people with possible connections to the manufacturer but no luck, I guess we will have to try to make one ourselves.
