im sorry but that is no turbo charger. thats the same as a leaf blower. a turbo uses exhaust gasses to spin a shaft that spins a compressor to pull atmospheric air and compressing it to a psi and cramming it into a tight space. its more about pressure than air movement. compressed air is more dense than atmospheric so more fuel can be added to make a more powerful engine cycle.

Think he was using compressed air to simulate exhaust flow. They are also for nitro motors and nitro is a pain to work with.

Yes i believe that the air is supose to simulate exhaust gasses. its only a prototype and i would thing that it will eventually need some type of self contained or circulating lubricant due to heat and bearing speeds.

i think that in theory a leaf blower is the same as a centrifical super charger which is basicaly the front half of a turbo, just belt or motor driven...

I really want to see more (dyno and operation video) cause if it works these could really increase the HP and torque of a lot of 2 cycle boat and rc cars, not to mention a lot of other little motor driven things..

no its not. a leaf blower does just that blows air. a turbo takes air and pushes it into a snail form to compress the air. that intern makes a dense air and thus creates pressure. i will tell you the 2stroke marine engines we use will not pick up big gains like a 4stroke or a 2 stroke reed engine.

Looked at these a while back and spoke with him. He makes a twin set now for Zenoah - problem being is with our carbs it needs to be on other side -- in other works the systems shown are 'blow through' for our carbs need a draw through

Wont work cause of the nature of how a two stroke works

the exhast side of the turbo will interfere with the exhaust waves/pulse and then if it does manage to work it will blow the fuel- air mixture straigt thru the cylinder and will be wasted..

TURBOS AND CHARGERS ONLY WORK WITH FOUR STROKE ENGINES or rotary
( or engines that have valves or some obstruction to stop blow-thru )
