My Warpath Rigger ready for testing...

This is a scratch build, loosely based off of a Midwest design, mixed up with a little bit of bullet and other personal stuff! lol Got some setup tips from Mr Grim so now all I need is a little bit of luck. Will find out soon if it works or not! :laugh:

Powered by a CC Racing 260 "Beast" and a Beast pipe. Extremelink radio as usual. Not sure on props yet, but have a good selection of PWW and Voodoo, plus a few of my own. We'll see.

Thats one BADASS Rigger!, I'm a rigger guy by heart, it was my first class of boat. Theres no feeling like it, when my run is done my hands and knees are shaking and I'm almost breathless, I don't care how many times or how long I do it.

It's been a few years since I've gone to the pond or even picked up a magazine. The sport has changed with all kinds of new and different boats, hardware and powersources. One question, I've notice the "two step" sponsons on other boats such as the ones on yours.? Whats the difference or advantages between your "two step" sponson and a typical sponson? once again, sharp boat!

Thanks. As for the "two step" sponsons, are you referring to the extension at the back of them? If so, that was only done to have surface for mounting the turn fin to, as opposed to making a bracket to bring the turn fin back to the proper placement. These extensions are high enough to never even come close to the water. This is similar to what was done on Cajun Bullet riggers.

I'm picking up what yer laying down, but out of curiousity, whynot build a sponson to that length? or does the lenght of the sponson have something to do with it? I know the placement of the fin does. You see Marc, I'm getting back into it all and want to scratch build a rigger, such as yours, but it's been a long time and you know how ya forget where all your marbles went? LOL! I used to hate showing up at the pond and having guys (usually the ones whos boats didn't run) telling me what i should of and shouldn't of done! I personally don't care, I always had a good time and burned plentyvof tanks of gas. I just want to put together a good plan to kick off this winter during some down time. Thanks for letting me pick your brain, hope it didn't hurt much!

In my opinion, the afterplane (distance between heel of sponson and the transom would have been too short, or sponsons too far back in other words, if I still wanted to bolt the fin to it. I'm no expert at this by any means, just going buy tips from the pros and stuff I've seen and learned along the way, but when it comes to riggers, I'm pretty wet behind the ears! My choice was to either go with an extended fin bracket or an extended sponson and no extension on the fin...I chose the latter. Plus I think it looks cool!

I hear ya Marc, it doe's look kool and it caught my eye not only on yours but others. Well thanks for the input, hopefully I myself can start posting pictures of my build soon, I'm all about the fun, I'm also an airbrush artist, so it'll have a killer paint job on it, there probally be more time in the paint then the build, but I'm all about the oh-ah facter! Again, another nice build. I don't know how you keep turning them out so fast. It takes me months to get them just right.

Took the rigger out for maiden voyage tonight. Ran pretty decent for a first time scratch build. Of course it never would have without the great advice I got from Mark Grim. Boat is pretty fast, still needs a bit of work to get it to turn like I want, but I think we'll get it. I must say, I am amazed at how much this guy knows about riggers..I knew he knew his stuff, but discussing with him about the boat just blew me away. He even guessed the speed within 2 mph before I ran it..just based on a few measurements, and prop selection!!

WOW! Now that's impressive, not just about the boat, but Mark, too!
