Mcculloch homebrew water cooling & maybe mods?

Howdy all!
As most of you might know, i have my new mono up and running with a 25cc mac weedy motor. Itran well on its first run, clocking 32kph. But im pretty sure thats about the limit of that motor.
I also have a 32cc 4port mcculloch. Problem with it tho, is the shroud and everything else is too big to squeeze it between the 5" rails.
So i have started going about a watercooling conversion on this thing.
I dont have a lathe or access to one, so i am using my drillpress as a makeshift "vertical lathe".
So far i have removed the top 4 fins and will probably take the next one off as well.
I have some copper tube i will make the jacket out of.

i also used the dremel to assist in turning down the fins.

I have used a similar method when I didnt have access to a lathe! :laugh:
I used a fine wood 'Bastard file' to take the fins down after cutting the bulk off with a hand saw. :blink:
It worked out ok for a home job, took my time and got it all nice and clean spinning with some sandpaper and a piece of angle to finish it off.

Less than top technology can do it. But why only turning down 4 of the fins?

I do intend to take off the next fin, 4 was all I got done last night. The 6th fin will stay as its part of the exhaust and will be needed to bolt the jacket to

Mostly finished! Jacket made up and bolted to cylinder head. Just needs the water inlet and outlets then seal it all up with high temp silicone

Took another trip out to my local tip shop for a scrounge, thought i struck gold when i stumbled across what i thought to be a walbro wt-257! Only to be dissapointed when i realised it was a wt-275 oh well have a spare carb for one of my ever growing collection of weedy motors. Scored another 2 weed wackers from my uncle who has had them kicking around in his shed for too long, more mod testing candidates not sure what they are yet, get them dropped off some day next week

Finished off the water jacket for the 32cc mac, just need to seal it onto the head and function test it.
Now, what else can i mod while i have it in pieces?
Here are some photos of the cylinder, ports and flywheel.
With the flywheel, would it be possible to lathe off the fins to reduce weight? I plan on using a belt and electric starter to start it so the pull start bits wont be needed. Can i remove the little spring loaded tabs from the flywheel? I guess my other problem with removing fins and what not will be the balance of the flywheel.
What would be my best option there?
Also, what sort of mods could be done to this head? Am i right in assuming this is a 4 port head?

Sorry for the deluge of questions, but im really getting into fiddling with these weedy motors. I cant justify to the wife forking out only 200 bux for a zen so modding weedy motors is my only option

Yup, spin those fins off the flywheel front and back. Its dark here at the moment otherwise I would take a pic of the spun down flywheel for you.
If your going to play with the port timing, at guess I would say int.145 exh.170.
Same sort of numbers as a mod homelite should do something to help you along.
