Well people I got it wet! :woohoo:
Stock engine(aircooled) with can muffler!
Still waiting for good prop to arrive, and need to lift the strut anyway as I set it flat on the setup board!
Really bad video quality as I dont have the right cable for my cam!
Sorry guys but its proof that it runs anyway!

Dont worry I have medication!
I will let you know as soon as it arrives.
I had it going better on the second trip out after installing a homemade pipe and a larger carb.
Will get some better vid. soon!

OK! Good news is The CDI unit arrived safe and sound!
Thank you again Isuzudude!
Now for the bad news! :S
Installed as per instructions found for CH unit!
Removed original flywheel etc.
Now with the flywheel removed the extra inertia is gone, so after 3 pulls with the engine setup in the hull, the starter plate on the motor shattered!
Thinking it was something I did to damage it I replaced it with one off of my spare motor!
Now I have 2 broken starter plates and no way of pull starting my motor!
As the engine now quickly loads and unloads during the pull start without the dampening effect of the flywheel all the extra pressure on the starter plate was way too much!

That bites a big one :S What ya might have to do is turn that hunk of a flywheel down leavin just enough for the enertia you need. Are you going to be able to find another starter plate? Let me know how it goes

The plates are just too weak and brittle!
These motors are hard enough to pull over as it is being 50cc and lots of compression!
Really there is no reason why the plates arent made stronger as there is plenty of room to beef them up!
I may have to go to a geezer wheel for starting purposes as the pull start assy. will probably fail next!
The damage!

Instead of going with the standard Geezer, you might have to turn one down that has a bigger diameter... 1st because of the torque needed to turn it over, 2nd to give ya the mass ya need to smooth it out some  Just a thought, but I think going that route would work for ya
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

If you go with the Geezer wheel, use a small starter engine off a small car or Bike & use a Lipo battery to power it. A lot of the X mono guys go this rout to start their high compression engines.

The biggest pain in the a$$ is that I just got it all tuned right and running on the pipe!
Finished modding my new X482 prop and installed it, thought I would throw the CDI on before taking it out to tune it with my new prop!
Now I cant even pull start it if I threw the flywheel back on!
God I love this hobby!
Tinkering is almost more fun than running these boats for me! :woohoo:
