1/6 scale 68' Smirnoff

Been building a 1/6 scale boat the past couple weeks. It will be the 68 Smirnoff. I'm ready for the top deck skins. Should be doing the sponsons this week.

Got the sponson skins on and the rudder, strut and turn fin.

Got the top deck done. Also got the cowlings done. Drew out the tail fins tonight, should get them made and attached tomorrow.

got the paint done. Need a little touch up here and there but overall came out pretty good.

Got it wet the past couple weekends. I need to do some work as I'm as far down on the strut as it will go and still very light in the nose. I adjusted the angle of the prop a little but it didn't like that too much (attached video). I adjusted it back after this vid and did a spectacular backflip and barrel roll. Broke one tailfin off, but almost have that all fixed now. Still waiting on decals and need to make my dummy motor.

Finally got my decals on. They look pretty good. Also had to totally strip all the paint off and repaint the whole boat as there was something wrong between the primer and the first coat. Raced it at one of the scale races and it proved to be very competitive but I had a grey coil go bad and end my day early. Now working on the dummy motor and a driver. We made a mold from my thunderboat driver and will be able to cast more for whatever boats I build in the future. Need to put a couple more vents on order for the top deck.
