How do you go about scaling down full size plans ? I'd like to build a 1/4 scale of this boat from Glen-L plans www.boatdesigns.com/15-Cracker...t/products/207/ I'd like to find someone who has already scaled down the plans and maybe I could buy a copy of the plans from them, without having to buy the full size ones.
I have some really beautiful grained aircraft grade plywood that I've been saving for a special project.

Directions for how to "loft" plans can be found on several
web sites like this one:

www.diy-wood-boat.com/Lofting.html

Glen-L's Cracker has a strong curvature which forms the tumblehome
at the transom. If these curves are also compound then this design
can be very challenging to build using a single sheet of plywood. Not
saying it can't be done but having done compound plywood curves in
several applications - that one may be an advanced build.

If you would like to find a Cracker with a smaller amount of compound
curves (the compound curvature is limited to the deck and much easier
to build) then maybe consider the ZippKits V-Box. Any of the ZippKits
Crackers are a great value at their price points.

zippkits.com/~zippkits/index.p...products_id=339

Note: The link above is broken. Just look in the "Gas Boat Kits" to
find Joe's selection of Crackers.

Since this is smokeater's build thread, I will politely back out and
remind him we are looking forward to more pics.

Good luck with your project, ridgerunner.

I've heard the Zipkits crackers are cheap, easy to build and handle well, but they don't have the lines that the Glen-L design has.The closest I've found to it is the Ivan Bourdier Hot Tub crackerbox.I've had good luck bending 1/8" plywood two directions on a hull by using a steam machine and bending both ways a little at a time and putting a twist in it.Here a pic of the Hot Tub style.

Nice looking boat! There is nothing like some tumblehome for a true
classic look.

It's great to read others are practicing compound curved plywood. It
has become one of the dying arts of wood boat construction.

I have made a small change to my 1/3 sale printed hull frame printouts! I have changed the stringer width and depth to 1/2" wide x just a hair under 1/4" deep on the bottom and the sides. This creates less of a headache in preparing stock and cutting frame stringers to the point of less waste and differences...
