Ran the boat once to test making sure ride surface mods worked as hoped ... they did, so back into the shop it went for final fit/finish work and some trick parts.

Hope ya like it ... I do love to build and really happy how this Backlash turned out.
2012 racing seasons going to be really wild with many other guys building Insane G4's and Backlashs ... 6 boat heats all running 70++ mph :woohoo: O'boy hold your breath !!

Beautiful build Scott!!! Let us know how she races. I'm looking forward to seeing some run at that Nats this week. Really am curious to see if they indeed are faster/better than the Whiplash!

Beautiful job as always your work is always first class

I think front duct is very cool

Is that a grease fitting or oil - I seen same thing on Andy's (AC) personal boats

The cap is that's Bob's billet blank ? Paint or anodized?

Whats the blue hose on support for?

What's next to ignition switch?

Sorry for all questions I'm just kind of a detail freak

Very Nice Scott

Thank you

I think front duct is very cool

Somewhat a NACA type ( Floor is high so any water drains forward into front compartment )

Is that a grease fitting or oil - I seen same thing on Andy's (AC) personal boats

Been using Chainsaw Bar/Chain oil of late, works really well !

The cap is that's Bob's billet blank ? Paint or anodized?

Bobs cap, sand blasted on top then painted

Whats the blue hose on support for?

Between hull and pipe mount is a 3/4" rubber A/V mount, Blue is a piece of 3/4" I.D. silicone as a stiffener so pipe not so loose able to rock back/forth.

What's next to ignition switch?

Ignition switch ? ... If questioning radio box cover ?, Antenna, Bailer plug to access charge plug, Radio gear switch

Sorry for all questions I'm just kind of a detail freak

Yes, Per the books rule:
*4. Sport Hydroplane
a. Sport hydroplanes may have more than two riding surfaces touching the water
at planing speeds.

Tho the rear don't at planing speeds they do while milling ... kinda grey there ?
BTW, good eye seeing that

Thank you,

Yea the bottom ride surface mods for now are going to stay out of public view.
Was well into the build and doing mods before all the hoopla hit the fan over on the dock about ride surface shingles needing help/retrofitting.

These boats from what I have seen are just stupid quick turners but don't seem to run any faster out in the straights ? Mods on rides surfaces I have done hopefully will change that giving me a little something extra others don't have.

How about a run down on that motor, what carb is that?
Is that red line for starting?
